• 1 tablespoon dried oregano

• 2 teaspoons powdered cumin

• Salt and pepper to taste

• Desirable garnishes shredded cabbage, sliced radishes, chopped cilantro, lime wedges, dried oregano, diced avocado, and chopped onions.

 

Instructions:

 

1. Combine the meat, water, chicken broth, onion, and garlic in a large saucepan. Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat.

2. Reduce the heat to low and cook for 1 hour, or until the pork is soft and cooked through. Remove any foam that has risen to the surface.

3. Take the pork out of the saucepan and shred it with two forks. Set it aside for now.

4. Stir in the hominy, dry oregano, and crushed cumin. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for another 30 minutes to enable the flavors to blend.

5. Add the shredded pork back to the saucepan and cook for another 10 minutes.
