Ingredients:

 

a.       1 pound ground pork

b.       1/2-pound shrimp, peeled and deveined

c.       1 tablespoon sesame oil

d.       1 tablespoon soy sauce

e.       1 tablespoon cornstarch

f.        2 teaspoons ginger, minced

g.       2 teaspoons garlic, minced

h.       1 egg

i.         1/4 teaspoon white pepper

j.         1/4 teaspoon salt

k.       24 won ton wrappers

l.         6 cups chicken or vegetable stock

m.     2 green onions, thinly sliced

 

Instructions:

 

i.                     In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, shrimp, sesame oil, soy sauce, cornstarch, ginger, garlic, egg, white pepper, and salt. Mix well to combine.

ii.                   Take a won-ton wrapper and place a teaspoon of the filling in the center. Wet the edges of the wrapper with water and fold in half to form a triangle. Press the edges together to seal the dumpling. Repeat with the remaining won ton wrappers and filling.

iii.                 In a large pot, bring the chicken or vegetable stock to a boil. Add the won tons to the pot and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the dumplings are cooked through.

iv.                 Serve the won tons in bowls with broth and sliced green onions.

Ingredients:

 

a.       1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined

b.       1 tablespoon vegetable oil

c.       1 tablespoon sesame oil

d.       2 tablespoons garlic, minced

e.       2 tablespoons ginger, minced

f.        1 tablespoon Sichuan peppercorns, crushed

g.       1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes

h.       2 tablespoons soy sauce

i.         1 tablespoon rice vinegar

j.         1 tablespoon honey

k.       1/4 cup chicken or vegetable broth

l.         2 green onions, thinly sliced

 

Instructions:

 

i.                     In a large pan, heat the vegetable oil and sesame oil over medium-high heat. Add the garlic, ginger, Sichuan peppercorns, and red pepper flakes, and cook for 1-2 minutes, or until fragrant.

ii.                   Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.

iii.                 In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, and chicken or vegetable broth.

iv.                 Pour the sauce over the shrimp in the pan and stir to coat. Cook for an additional 1-2 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.

v.                   Serve the Szechuan Shrimp in bowls with sliced green onions.
